Free Chrome extension for Shopify sellers

Catch catalog problems before shoppers do

Catalog Watchdog is a Shopify store monitor that checks every published product for broken prices, sold out listings, missing photos and supplier price swings, then tells you how to fix each one.

No account. No API key. Works with up to 10 stores.

Set it up in a minute

There is nothing to install on your store and nothing to configure. Add a store and the first scan starts right away.

  1. Add your store

Open your storefront and click "Add this store" in the side panel, or type the domain.

  2. Get a health score

Every published product goes through 17 checks. You get a score from 0 to 100 and a list grouped by severity.

  3. Fix and keep watching

Each issue explains the fix and links to the product in your Shopify admin. Scans repeat on your schedule.

17 checks for what shoppers actually see

Built around the mistakes that supplier sync apps, bulk edits and duplicated products leave behind.

One alert when it matters

Scans run in the background every 6, 12 or 24 hours, or weekly. When new critical problems show up, you get one desktop notification per store and a badge on the toolbar icon.

  • No alert spam: one summary per store per scan
  • Optional short report after every scan
  • Snooze a check for 7 or 30 days, or ignore one product

Private by design

Catalog Watchdog runs entirely in your browser. It reads public catalog data only, so it never needs your Shopify login.

Only your stores

Requests go only to the stores you add, spaced out and without cookies. Nothing else is contacted.

No servers, no tracking

There is no account, no analytics and no backend. Your stores, scans and settings stay on your device.

Your data, your files

Export issues to CSV for your team, back up everything to JSON, or clear it all with one click.

Questions

Is Catalog Watchdog free?

Yes. The extension is free, with no account, no trial and no paid plan.

Do I need to connect my Shopify admin or an API key?

No. It reads the public product catalog that every Shopify storefront publishes, the same data your shoppers see. That is why it never asks for a login, a staff account or an app install.

Which products does it check?

All published products, up to 10,000 per store. Drafts, archived products and products hidden from your online store are not visible to it.

How often does it scan?

Every 24 hours by default. You can switch to every 6 or 12 hours or once a week, or press Scan now at any time. Requests are spaced out and slow down automatically if a store asks them to.

Can I use it for client stores or competitors?

It is built for your own stores and the stores you manage, up to 10 at a time. Any public Shopify storefront can be added, but the checks and fix tips are written for the person who can edit the products.

What happens to my data?

It stays in your browser. Only the stores you add are contacted. There are no servers of ours, no analytics and no tracking, and you can export or delete everything in Settings.

Is this made by Shopify?

No. Catalog Watchdog is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Shopify Inc.
